Q&A .

I specialise in teaching English to primary age children, and all lessons are based on the school curriculum.

My classes help fill any knowledge gaps and allow students attain a higher academic level.

All classes are run 100% in English.

This is a myth! Tutoring is for everyone. All types of students benefit from tutoring, from those who are academically gifted to those who require more extensive support with learning.

Many of my students are academically gifted children who, thanks to my lessons, achieve an even higher academic level.

95% of my students go to primary schools in the UK, and hence they already communicate fluently in English.

However, if your family has recently arrived in the UK, or you are planning to move here I can help your child learn English before the big day. Please contact me to discuss an individualised plan.

Of course! I have a lot of experience in teaching students whose parents choose this form of education for their child. I can offer support with early reading skills (phonics), early writing skills or general English lessons based on the National Curriculum..).

Absolutely! During the first lesson, new students complete an assessment which will enable me to devise a bespoke plan of action to support and encourage your child’s learning. It will fill in any gaps their knowledge, enabling them to gain confidence to build on their skills. **Please note that the assessment is only carried out for KS2 1:1 students. KS1 students are assessed as part of every lesson, and adjustments are made as necessary, in order to provide the best possible support for each child.

The number of individual lessons per week depends on the parent's budget.

Most group courses take place once a week, with the exception of the SAT booster classes. These classes are for Y6 students, and I offer grammar and reading comprehension. Students can attend one or both, depending on the skills they need to work on.

It all depends on the student's needs. If you’re not sure which model and/or type of lesson would be best for your child, I’m happy to have a 10-minute telephone chat. We can discuss your child’s needs and I can advise on the most suitable and effective form of support for them.

Features of 1:1 classes:

  • Classes are tailored to your child's individual needs.
  • Pace of learning is flexible.
  • Undivided attention from the teacher.

Features of group courses:

  • Teaching is delivered at the ‘expected standard’ level, with elements of challenge.).
  • Run accordingly to a fixed lesson plan.
  • Lessons are interactive and replicate group work at school.
  • Less pressure on one student – often more suitable for shy children.
  • Help build up confidence to share answers and opinion with others.
  • Economical form of tutoring, but as effective as a 1:1 session.
  • Foster a feeling of belonging to a community.
  • Great way to feel inspired by others and stay motivated to learn.
  • Opportunity to make new friends.

I strongly believe that by adapting my teaching style and considering the needs of the students in the group, the group classes (courses) can be equally effective as a 1:1 class. The only difference is in the price tag, so why pay a premium fee!? If you’re still not sure, please take a look at the testimonials of parents whose children have attended my group classes.

I offer two types of discounts:

  • For siblings (-20%) - the discount applies only to group classes, not 1:1 lessons .
  • For SAT booster students (-20%) - the discount applies only if the student participates in both courses, grammar and reading comprehension.

Payments for lessons - parents receive a monthly invoice and the payment for lessons must be made via bank transfer a month in advance.

If it is a 1:1 lesson, at least 24 hours cancellation notice is required to receive a refund. Alternatively, parents can opt in for the credit to be carried over to next month’s invoice.

Student absence during classes group is non-refundable. To enable students to catch up in the event of absence, all group lessons are recorded and then securely stored and made available to absent students.

Each lesson recording is stored securely in the Zoom cloud for 14 days, after which it is permanently deleted.

In the first, students polish key elements of descriptive grammar and discover tricks for creating interesting, complex sentences. In the second part, they analyze the features of stories (story writing), learn techniques for writing engaging, interesting, and descriptive stories, and then practice creating them in a way that grabs the reader's attention. By the end of the course, students will be able to independently write impressive sentences and stories that will shine in the classroom!

📚 Read Like a Star (KS2) — a course based on school reading comprehension (reading comprehension / whole class reading) consisting of two parts: theoretical and practical. At the beginning, children learn to recognize different types of questions that test the required reading comprehension skills and learn effective reading strategies. In the practical part, children learn to carefully analyze texts and questions about them in order to answer them exhaustively, using the strategies and tricks they have learned. Students work on carefully selected, interesting materials that help them gain practice and confidence during reading classes at school.

🥷🏻 Grammar Ninja (KS2) — a grammar course dedicated to students in grades 3–5, covering school material adapted to their age. During classes, students not only fill in gaps, but also improve their knowledge to reach a higher academic level. The course is divided into four key thematic blocks, which are the most difficult for children of this age: basic grammar (parts of a sentence), sentence structure, punctuation rules, and practical writing of complex sentences.
